Yesterday Zoopla made an announcement saying they will make no comment on the decision of high-end
London estate agency Chestertons to move from Zoopla to Rightmove.
The agency has 30 offices across London and is one of the founders of Agents’ Mutual. To honour the
OnTheMarket ‘only one other portal’ rule, they will be dropping Zoopla “on amicable terms” and returning to
Chief executive at Chestertons, Robert Bartlett has commented saying “We had more and more of our clients
telling us that they expected to see us on Rightmove and you have to listen to your clients.”
Chesterton’s website describes itself as “steeped in a long and distinguished history, serving the upmarket
neighbourhoods of the London residential property market.”
Chestertons announced nine months ago it would drop Rightmove and stay with Zoopla, they said this was “an
easy choice” at the time and at that point the agency claimed it would work with Zoopla “in 2015 and beyond.”
Zoopla’s share price closed down 12.9 (5.02%) at the end of trading yesterday.
